Van Mojoman

Okay, so we went down to Escape Campervans and met the gorgeous Rob and a whole bunch of aussies and kiwis about to go on biking and hiking adventures across the usa. So good to hear some aussie accents again. Of course I give them my biggest budget tip for the USA: buy everything from the 99c store (my favourite place in the world).
We get our gorgeous home for the next 3 weeks and find to Kai’s absolute delight it is the very van he spotted and fell in love with. The van is called the…Tree Hugger….. and we LOVE IT! I’ve always joked that I am a five star camper and the closest I will ever get to camping is falling out of bed in the Hilton and sleeping on the floor….Now I am about to hit the road, no hair dryer, no creature comforts and I don’t even know when my next shower will be…..ahhhhhhhhhhh what am I doing? At least if I find some interesting things along the way I can write about them and sell some articles. At least I can write no matter where I am. And fingers crossed one of the books I have pitched over here will get picked up so who knows what will happen…throw the cards up in the air and see where they fall.
I fluctuate between being terrified and excited. I have never just got in a van and travelled wherever the wind blows. I certainly have never done a trip this big and sometimes in my life I feel like there should be a grown up present cause it often feels like I didn’t quite make it all the way to adulthood. But this is huge. No matter what happens Kai is going to have the best time and it will certainly be better than the sitting on the couch watching cable broken up by baseball in the park holiday I could have given him and if I come back with even just a little bit more Mojo than I have had recently then this is a good thing. What’s the worst that could come of this? The worst case scenario is Kai has a summer he will never forget. Win win.
My friend Vi is auditioning for this oprah show down in Laguna Niguel in Orange County and we have decided to head down and support her, just check it out and maybe interview some people, not just on what Oprah means to them but also pursue this concept of how long you should or even could pursue a dream and more importantly how to take the setbacks and keep on going because Finding my Mojo is really all about that and LA if overflowing with people who have BIG dreams and the majority of them never even get close to making it. A friend of mine here in LA, who happens to have achieved a great deal of success, shared her wisdom with me one day when certain media outlets in Australia were laughing at me and writing certain comments about my progress because I hadn’t “made it” yet (having been a resident a total of 5 months lol). She said, “Ajay, the only people who don’t make it here are the ones who go home too soon.” Love it! I am not going anywhere. I am here to stay as long as it takes me. And as soon as I find my own personal Mojo that is when things will really start to happen for me but, right now, I going down to Orange County to support my friend then head out on the road…that seems like the right thing to do. This trip needs to happen one step at a time.
So I would like to officially declare this next adventure started. Yipppppppppeeeeeeeeeeee!!!!
I met you at the Oprah Fantasy Camp in Orange Co. Ca. I was the guy in the comfortable chair with the sign that had the following: November 17th, 2009 6:24 am PST. I was impressed with your tenacity and positve attitude towards life. You certainly have all of the reasons that one could think of to have given up but you understand the power of positive energy in your life so you have the secret, just continue to apply it.
Good luck with all of your pursuits and travel safe. I am doing a business plan for my new business that will involve motivated people like yourself to join with me to : Help those people that have not yet learned how to help themselves! I will check back on your site for updates of your travels. Stay excited and positive about life and you will attract what you need to get you where you are going. donald.saunders@llvresort.com
